The Side of the House

The side of the house really came to my attention when I found this photo, which I posted sometime in February, as the before in a before and after snow picture. I used the front door and the back door, but rarely, if ever, walked down the side of the house.
Spring is here and those days are over. I spent the better part of three days working on this stretch of planter bed...but it's done now!

I worked over here when I finished the front yard. I started with the easy end where Maryke had planted herbs last year. I had decided to clean up the rose bushes, and make the rest of this dirt down the entire side of the house herbs. The parsley came back from last year, so I worked around that and got as far as the rosebush.

I had picked off most of the dead stuff on the rose about a week ago, but cleaning out all the wild grass and other junk was time consuming. Believe me I will keep up on my weeding to never have to do this again.

I planted some spinach on the end, left the parsley, and will plant more in seeds as I move down the bed.
A long hot bath followed this day's work.
