More Sunflowers

Got up this morning with the yard on my mind. I worked extra last Friday and will again this Friday. It cuts into my garden time, but it gives me a bit more cash and favor at work, so it's cool, but, I was sooo ready to get out there this morning.

This is the view as I walk out the door, and I get quite excited as I experience the evolution of this yard. Sometimes it looks messy to me and I think about ways to improve aesthetics and function for next year. Then I get out in the middle of it, pulling weeds, stroking leaves, witnessing creation and I am transported to someplace magical. I love knowing I am tending food I will ingest. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, Universe.
They just peel open. It's so cool to watch. The birds are at the seeds as soon as the petals reveal them and I am watching to find one right at the pre-peel stage so I can have all the seeds for next year. I will be clearing all the sunflowers out of the veggie bed next year.
As much as I would love to say I was attempting an artsy shot, it's just my poor old camera not opening all the way, and me not checking it, when I know I should...I can always crop it out for my coffee table book, hehehe.

Second to the corn, I love this row of sunflowers. It's about time to cut the grass again.

The first one is now nearly picked clean, was gonna clip it last week when the petals drooped, but decided to let it go and see what happens...this is it and it got clipped today. I need to make room for the rest that are coming.

Life is so very good for me right now. I am connected to my source.
Know that if you read this blog I am holding you in my heart.

Have a great day!
